Alternative Spring Break 2020

On Sunday, March 15th, 14 students joined us for Alternative Spring Break 2020. While our excursion lasted only 36 hours, we sparked a love of public lands and Wilderness that will last much, much longer.

A Stary First Anniversary!

A big round of applause and thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate the first anniversary of Massacre Rim WSA’s designation as an International Dark Sky Sanctuary. It is important to celebrate victories, and we are grateful for everyone who helped make this one a reality!

The National Wildlife Refuge System Turns 117!

The National Wildlife Refuge System turns 117 this year. On March 14, 1903, President Teddy Roosevelt established Florida’s Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge as the first national wildlife refuge to protect egrets and other birds from extinction due to plume hunters.
