Camping
There are no developed campgrounds within the Nevada portion of the Gates of the Grand Canyon. Dispersed camping accessible by boat and car outside of developed areas or areas marked NO CAMPING, however, is permitted anywhere along the lake shore by boat or along designated backcountry routes by vehicle. The shoreline of Lake Mead is heavily used, so please follow Leave No Trace camping guidelines. On the Arizona side, a full-service vehicle campground is available at Temple Bar.
Backpacking
Horsepacking or backpacking opens nearly unlimited opportunities for primitive camping on the Nevada side of the Gates of the Grand Canyon and is the best way to enjoy the wild lands.
