There are no established campgrounds in the area, but primitive dispersed camping is available and accessible from the extensive system of roads surrounding the Calico Mountains Wilderness. Soldier Meadows 15 miles north of the Wilderness offers many opportunities for dispersed camping. Backpacking and animal packing is the best way to enjoy overnight stays in the Wilderness and provides limitless camping opportunities.

Getting There

The eastern side of the Calico Mountains Wilderness is easily reached along the Soldier Meadows road about 30 miles northeast of Gerlach.
