Camping

The Bluewing Mountains are circled by a good dirt roads providing easy access to outstanding views and unlimited places to journey into the mountains on foot or horseback. These same dirt provide multiple possibilities for dispersed or boondock vehicle camping and access to enter this wild area.  The roads in this part of Nevada are all dirt and can quickly become dangerous and impassable in snowy or wet weather.  Be forewarned that the multitude of "roads" shown in atlases and on GPS navigational layers often do not exist, or are in such poor shape that they are impassible to most vehicles and/or are excessively abusive to 4x4 vehicles, drivers, and passengers. Check out Nevada Explorer Resources for more information about backcountry travel and safety.
