Join us for a fun weekend with the Sierra Club exploring the heart of wild Nevada! Lone Mountain is that impressive looking peak that you see when driving south on Hwy 95 about 40 miles west of Tonopah. It's also an area we have identified as exhibiting strong wilderness characteristics. Join us to explore this stunning wild place and learn how you can help protect its wild qualities by urging the BLM Battle Mountain District to identify it as a land with wilderness character!
We will car camp in the area and attempt to summit the peak the next day. We'll also do some other exploring in the area, such as the southern end of the Monte Cristo Range. Be prepared for 4-6 mi RT and 2500-3000' of elevation gain for Lone Mtn and lesser hiking in the Monte Cristos. Please contact leader for further details.
