Wild Speaker Series

Matt Flores is a Habitat Biologist with the Nevada Division of Wildlife and an expert on water collection systems. On October 5th, he'll give a presentation titled, Guzzlers In Nevada: How Water Developments Sustain Wildlife In The Desert.

Human developments and communities fragment wildlife habitat areas cutting off species from life giving water in desert climates like ours here in Southern Nevada. Matt will explain how the creation of guzzlers, water retaining structures built in areas where there is not enough water to support wildlife without supplemental water sources, are critical to the survival of wildlife in Nevada such as mule deer, bighorn sheep, elk and antelope. Come learn about our local wildlife and how these guzzlers keep wildlife populations thriving!

We'll see you there!

Friends of Nevada Wilderness is hosting a monthly meeting the first Thursday of every month and we're calling it our Wild Speaker Series! This is a great way for folks who are interested in conservation to learn about current issues. Arrive at 6:45 to socialize and snack before the presentation at 7 pm. Please join us at REI Boca Park every first Thursday for a new speaker every month!
