Women's Trail Skills Training

Join us for a special women’s trail project designed to build skills, confidence, and community in the outdoors. This project creates a welcoming, supportive space for women who are curious about trail work and excited to learn by doing. Led by experienced female trail professionals in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest (specific location TBD - likely central or eastern Nevada and equidistant from the Reno office and Vegas office), this women-only weekend will focus on hands-on skill building. You’ll learn and practice essential trail maintenance techniques like crosscut saw use, tread repair, drainage improvements, brushing, and rockwork; all in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

This project is also a great stepping stone for those interested in taking their skills further. We encourage participants to join our Women’s Trail Maintenance Project on South Twin in the Arc Dome Wilderness (September 3rd–6th), where we’ll backpack into the Wilderness and continue developing advanced rockwork skills.

Trail work is more than just a weekend outside; it’s a chance to make a lasting impact. By maintaining and restoring trails, you’ll help protect surrounding ecosystems, reduce unnecessary damage to the landscape, and create safe, durable routes for others to experience the Wilderness.

Come learn new skills, connect with an incredible community of women, and be part of something meaningful. We’d love to have you out there!
