Join the Friends of Nevada Wilderness for a fun-filled day protecting Nevada wilderness with two veteran-focused organizations, Team Red, White and Blue and Team Rubicon. This project is designed to celebrate Veterans Day, thanking those who've served and are serving, bringing together our veterans and community to connect on our love for Nevada wildlands.
We'll be heading to South McCullough Wilderness to install post and cable barriers, preventing future wilderness incursions and protecting the vast array of species that call this wild place home. Click Here to see a google map of where we will meet volunteers prior to driving to the worksite location.
Plan to bring a water bottle, lunch and sunscreen for a day under the sun. We recommend wearing long pants, a long sleeve shirt and closed-toe shoes. We'll have plenty of water, snacks, tools and gloves for everyone to have a productive workday in the desert! Please RSVP below and contact Nicholas Scritchfield with any questions or for more information at [email protected] or (715) 220-7974.
The road to the worksite is quite rough, not necessarily requiring a high-clearance, 4x4 vehicle; however, if you have a high clearance, 4x4 vehicle, please drive it. When we arrive at the meeting location it would be best for those not in 4x4 vehicles to carpool with those who are.
