Our hope is that you can take the knowledge obtained from this webinar to out and Independently collect spring data in the wild places of Nevada on your own time!

Becoming an Independent Spring Steward
Becoming a independent spring monitoring volunteer with Friends of Nevada Wilderness is a great opportunity to explore the wild places and rich biodiversity Southern Nevada has to offer all while also collecting valuable data that can ultimately serve to protect and learn about these very special areas.
By watching this Webinar and filing the proper volunteer/Insurance forms with our federal partners you will be grated access to the Friends of Nevada Wilderness Spring Stewardship Portal. Here you will find even more detailed resources to guide your spring stewardship goals as well a information to aid in spring access and locations (GPS, Access and hike difficulty, vehicle needs, ect).
At the annual FNW volunteer appreciation event we highlight independent surveyors for there ambitious spring stewarding.

The Event
The Webinar is scheduled for Tuesday the 18th of October from 3:00 - 4:30pm. The webinar will include a presentation laying out the protocols, data collection methods, tools, and other info related to properly monitoring and reporting on springs in Southern Nevada, followed by a brief Q and A section. The webinar will last approximately 1.5 hours and then be uploaded to the FNW website for future reference.
During the webinar we will discus the use of two free phone applications (Avanza & iNaturalist) though it isn't necessary, downloading and familiarizing yourself with these apps beforehand will make the use demonstration portion of the webinar much easier.
