Springs are home to many species that live nowhere else on Earth. One group of organisms of particular concern are spring snails, a type of freshwater mollusk. They may be tiny, but they're very important to the ecosystem and their numbers are dwindling. Our partners at the Spring Stewardship Institute are hosting a quick, two-hour virtual webinar about these and other important freshwater mollusks in Nevada! If you're interested in being part of the Spring Monitoring Volunteer program, this is a great opportunity to learn more about our unique Nevadan animals and how to find them!
