The much beloved South Loop trail remains closed since being heavily damaged by the Carpenter 1 Fire and successive flooding in 2013. We'll spend the day working to move South Loop closer to opening by improving drainage structures and disguising trail cuts. Proper drainage is vital for every trail because it reduces erosion and damage that can be caused by pooling water. Our efforts will repair these crucial drainage structures on South Loop. This project involves a round trip hike of up to 4 miles at an elevation of 7500 - 9000 ft.
