⛏🥾South Loop Maintenance - Trailwork: 101!👞⚒

Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness on Saturday, July 17 for some maintenance on the lower 2 miles of South Loop Trail!

We'll meet at the Cathedral Rock/South Loop Trailhead at 8:00am on Saturday, July 17 to trim the aspens and repair any trail damage we find on the first 1-2 miles of South Loop!

RSVP to save your spot soon!

Have you ever wondered where trails come from? How do they get built? Where did these stairs come from? Why are there SO MANY switchbacks!?

Well, you're not alone!

We'll answer these pressing questions and more - like, what the heck is that big rake thingy? and just how much room does a horse need on a hike?  We'll also clear and rebuild some clogged drains with picks, remove rocks and hazards from the trail with those big rake thingies, and do some high-altitude Alpine gardening with our pruners, folding saws, and clippers!

It's going to be a great day to get outside, learn some of the basics of trailwork, get hands on experience with tools and - perhaps best of all - brag to your friends on your next hike that YOU HELPED BUILD THAT!
