This event is almost full! If you would like to come to Sheldon this weekend, please call Scott Larson ASAP at (248) 520-6740. Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act and the final fence pull in Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge!
Experience the beauty and wildness of Sheldon in northern Nevada during this very special volunteer weekend. Friends, along with partnering organizations, has already removed 200 miles of antiquated fence disruptive to wintering herds of pronghorn, sage grouse and other wildlife.
This weekend will mark the last miles of fence to be removed by Friends’ volunteers and Refuge partners. A BBQ luau celebration will occur on June 28th after the fence pull - prizes awarded for the ugliest Hawaiian shirt! This will be a fun, family friendly event.
Contact Scott at [email protected] or call (248) 520-6740 for more information.
