Knock knock
--Who's there?
Thistle
--Thistle who?
Thistle make you laugh.
Didn't make you laugh? That's ok, it wasn't very funny. BUT, we will be enjoying thistle-pulling fun times the weekend of June 15-17th in the Santa Rosa Mountains!
Join us for a weekend in the backcountry of the beautiful Santa Rosa Mountains, camped near a peaceful waterfall tucked into the back of Falls Canyon. There will be food, there will be laughter, there will be beautiful scenery, and meaningful work.
We will be hiking through the canyon removing the noxious weed 'Bull Thistle' in an effort to help the Forest Service eradicate this plant from the Santa Rosa-Paradise Peak Wilderness. We will be using shovels to remove the plant, and hiking with GPS units to track their locations in this canyon.
We would love to have a large group for this project; bring a friend for bonus points!
We will provide breakfast, dinner on Saturday evening, and rides on a first come first serve basis, as well as any loaner gear you may need. Stand by for additional details, and feel free to contact Nora Kaufmann, Stewardship Manager, at [email protected] for additional details.
