Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness in Rainbow Mountain Wilderness! We’re going to be repairing areas of illegal trespass near Mountain Springs using hand tools like Pick-Mattocks and Shovels.
Mountain Springs was an essential stop for those traveling the Old Spanish Trail in the 1800’s. Due to higher elevation camping, water, and grass for draft animals it was a special place. Before then, however, it was home to Native Americans whose traces can still be seen on the landscape.
Your efforts will directly affect the future of this special place. It will also support our subsequent efforts in Mountain Springs on National Public Lands Day.
What you'll need: Please wear sturdy boots/shoes, long pants, a long sleeve shirt, and a hat. Also bring sunscreen, a water bottle, and a lunch for yourself.
