Planting after Fires

Volunteers have planted over 6,000 bitterbrush and sagebrush seedlings in 4 weekends in an area of the Santa Rosa Range that was affected by the 2012 Hanson Fire.

These seedlings will help restore critical habitat for pronghorn, mule deer and other wildlife that rely on the Santa Rosa Range in Northern Nevada.  The Santa Rosas were hit hard with wildfires in recent years, but with the help of our amazing volunteer crews who gave their weekends to head north and plant seedlings we were able to get an incredible start toward restoration of this landscape.
