Onion Valley and Blue Lakes Campgrounds directly abut the north end of the Pine Forest Range Wilderness. There are many undeveloped campsites around Knott Creek Reservoir.
Getting There
There primary access for the Pine Forest Range wilderness is at Onion Valley Campground which borders the wilderness area. From Winnemucca follow US-95 for 31.5 miles, turn left onto NV-140. After 51.2 miles turn left onto 2014 for the shorter (distance wise) route and follow 2014 all the way to Onion Valley Campground (approximately 17 miles).
