Come enjoy solitude and panoramic views from the high point (7841') of the Petersen Mountain Range that straddles the California-Nevada border just north of Reno. This is on the Sierra Club Great Basin Peaks List (#86). Learn how you can help protect this stunning area and become involved in the Resource Management Plan process. This is a reschedule of a hike planned earlier. We will likely start off hiking then switch to snowshoes when we get to the deep snow. With all the snow we’ve had this year, there is a reasonable chance to see some wildlife up high. Weather conditions before and on the day of the hike will be a determining factor in our success.
