Blue Lakes by Brian Beffort

We are headed to the amazingly gorgeous Blue Lakes/Alder Creek WSAs for this years National Public Lands Day with the Winnemucca BLM District!

Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness, Winnemucca BLM, Friends of Black Rock, Nevada Outdoor School and other partners for a great weekend celebrating our public lands!  

This year we will be camping at Onion Valley Reservoir in the  Beautiful Pine Forest Range.  We'll be working on cleaning up the campgrounds at both Onion Valley Reservoir and at Blue Lakes.  In addition, we will be doing some trail maintenance on the 1 mile trail that leads to Blue Lakes and limbing the road that leads from Onion Valley Reservoir to the Blue Lakes parking area. This event is family friendly, so bring the kiddos.  Also, bring your bathing suits and take a cold, refreshing dip into Blue Lakes!

A high clearance, 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended to get to Onion reservoir and to Blue Lakes.
