Come join us for an overnight extravaganza on North Loop Trail! This will be the first of many weekends spent maintaining our backcountry trails in Mt. Charleston Wilderness. In July, we'll be camping out at the junction of Trail Canyon and North Loop trail at night and working to maintain the higher stretches of North Loop during the day. Join us for the whole weekend or just one day.
Level: Strenuous. This project will start out with a hike up Trail Canyon to our base camp. Trail Canyon is a steep, 2 mile trail at a high elevation (7,700 - 10,000 ft). From there we will be hiking an additional 1 - 2 miles each day while carrying tools, food, and water for yourself.
What You'll Need: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt. A water reservoir or multiple water bottles. We'll have plenty of water for refills. Sunscreen, lunches, and snacks for yourself. If you're camping out, you'll need to bring your own sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent, and any other camping gear.
What We'll Have: Dinner. Coffee, hot water, and breakfast items. Pack support! If you'll be camping out, you can drop off your gear with us by Thursday, 7/13 to have it packed up the trail by our friends with the Back Country Horsemen of Nevada.
