Love your Public Lands? Want to help celebrate Nevada's newest state holiday? That's right, September 30th is officially Nevada Public Lands Day! What better way to celebrate your public lands than to get on the ground and improve them?
National Public Lands Day has always been about volunteering and lending a hand. This year being the 24th annual event, we are excited to celebrate and work out int eh Black Rock Desert.
Join us for a weekend of giving back to the land! We will be partnering again with Friends of Black Rock-High Rock, Nevada Outdoor School, and the Winnemucca BLM. This year we will continue efforts to restore critical Desert Dace habitat in the Soldier Meadows area. In addition, we will be putting in some of the last wilderness boundary markers left to install in the Black Rock Desert.
And once again, the coveted Dutch Oven Cook-off Potluck will return! Season up your ol' Cast Iron Ovens and find that secret recipe you've been wanting to try. Always a big hit, the Saturday night dinner is most enjoyed with more people and friends.
We will provide a delicious continental breakfast both Saturday and Sunday with all the hot coffee, tea, and cocoa you can drink. Tools and instructions will also be provided for the project. RSVP Today!!!
