Join us for MLK Day of Service 2017! We're teaming up with Friends of Gold Butte to restore delicate desert soils in Nevada's newest National Monument, Gold Butte. Northeast of Las Vegas, Gold Butte contains wondrous geology, intriguing history and prehistory, important and fragile wildlife species, and timeless solitude. We'll travel to Gold Butte and spend the day restoring motorized incursions and improving habitat for rare species such as the Las Vegas bear poppy and desert tortoise!

What You'll Need:
What is MLK Day of Service?
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'"
Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on this day to serve their neighbors and communities. Martin Luther King Jr Day is a perfect opportunity for Americans to honor Dr. King’s legacy through service. MLK Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, bridges barriers, creates solutions to social problems, and moves us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a beloved community. It's a day on, not a day off.
