September 29, 2026 - Friends is very pleased to announce that Meghan Wolf has been elected Chair of our Board of Directors. Meghan has been working with Friends for nearly two decades and brings a deep knowledge of organizing on environmental issues as well as strong business acumen. 

Meghan brings an eclectic background to Friends' board. She has held various jobs with Patagonia from Manager at Patagonia's Reno outlet store to her current position as Senior Manager, Employee Activism, ensuring that staff across the company have the opportunity to give back to the lands they love and fight to protect the wild places they play. Meghan grew up in North Carolina, spending summers camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains before she moved to Reno, Nevada. After volunteering with Friends' stewardship program in the Black Rock-High Rock National Conservation Area and Mount Rose Wilderness, Meghan joined the board. In her free time, Meghan enjoys camping, hiking and floating rivers across the West with her husband and teenage son. Meghan holds a MA in International Communications and International Relations from Boston University and a BA in Political Science from North Carolina State University. She has also studied abroad in France and Prague. Meghan was initially elected to the board in 2008 and served until 2021. Meghan stepped back onto the board in 2026 to help guide Friends as we face new challenges and work to protect, defend, and care for Nevada's wild lands. Meghan was elected as board chair on September 22, 2026.
