Join the Friends of Nevada Wilderness for a lovely restoration project in Lovell Canyon.  Our project will be focused on the rewilding of a decommissioned road located adjacent to Rainbow Mountain Wilderness.  By vertical mulching and tilling the old route we will return a wild appearance to the area and allow for natural restoration. This project will help protect the pristine nature of our beloved wildernesses next door.  

Here is the itinerary; I hope you'll join us for a fun day restoring this rugged landscape.

7:30am Meet at Carpool Location (Terrible Herbst Convenience Store)
8:30am-3:00pm Restoration Project
3:00pm Return to Carpool Location

I'll be organizing a carpool in the parking lot of the Terrible Herbst Convenience Store linked above (Intersection of NV-159 & NV-160) at 7:30am, Saturday, April 28th, 2018.  Please park on the western side of the parking area.  There will be limited space available in our vehicle, so please be prepared to drive your personal vehicle and carpool others in your vehicle, if interested.  

Be sure to come prepared with sunscreen, water, lunch and appropriate clothing for a wild day under the desert sun.  We'll supply gear (gloves, tools, etc.), snacks and extra water.  Be sure to RSVP and please contact Nicholas Scritchfield with any questions or for more information at [email protected] or (715) 220-7974.

The road to the worksite is rough, not necessarily requiring a high-clearance, 4x4 vehicle; however, if you have a 4x4 vehicle, please drive it.  When we arrive at the meeting location it would be best for those not in 4x4 vehicles to carpool with those who are.
