Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness as we plant seedlings in an area that was burned during the 2012 Lost Fire. Planting seedlings is an important step in restoring the landscape by helping to prevent erosion and provide important winter forage and habitat for wildlife. We will be partnering with the BLM, NDOW, Friends of the Black Rock, among other partners for this great event!
This project will be in the Black Rock Desert-High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails NCA north of Gerlach, NV. The project will be a two day seedling planting, with volunteers planting on both Friday and Saturday. Friends of Nevada Wilderness will be there Thursday evening through Saturday evening. We do have a caravan leaving Reno on Thursday afternoon (the 14th) and one leaving on Friday afternoon (the 15th). So folks can volunteer for the whole event or for just part of it.
