On GivingTuesday, Friends of Nevada Wilderness is seeking your donation to complete stewardship work with the help of our volunteers. Followers, Members and Supporters, we are in dire need of a crew cab truck to carpool our volunteers to project sites in the backcountry. We do encourage our volunteers to carpool with each other whenever possible. But, in most cases, their own passenger cars just won’t make it. In the past, we have relied on expensive rental vehicles to bring equipment and volunteers out on projects. At other times, we had to simply turn volunteers away for fear their vehicles may get stuck on a rough backcountry road.
Owning a new heavy duty work truck that seats 6 passengers will help us save money on rentals, give more volunteers backcountry access and increase our ability to care for Nevada’s Wilderness. From planting native seedlings in Grapevine Canyon and maintaining trails in the Spring Mountains to transporting students on Alternative Spring Break down Alamo Road in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge and all of the rugged roads in between, our stewardship team needs your help to obtain a 4x4 crew cab truck to keep Nevada Wild!
