Ravenswood Peak Exploratory Day Hike. Ravenswood Mountains proposed LWC (Lands With Wilderness Characteristics) is in Lander County north of Hwy 50 and just west of NV 305. On this exploratory trip, we will attempt the rarely climbed Ravenswood Peak (8130’ and ~1450’ of prominence) which should provide great views in all directions. We will be joined by representatives from Friends of Nevada Wilderness to explain the proposed “LWC” designation and how you can help protect the area for its wild qualities. There will be a 3 hr drive each way and the hike will be 5-10 miles RT with 1500-2000’ of total elevation gain. Please contact leader for further details. ND.
