Hurry! Sign up for some ERGent spring surveying at ERG springs!
Join the Springs Team for a training event on Sunday, January 9th, from 9am to 12pm! We'll be checking out ERG springs, a cluster of 2 springs within a short walk of the road near Moapa. This is a great opportunity to learn how to measure water quality and flow as well as getting some hands-on practice of spring surveying techniques. As a bonus, you'll meet a bunch of other cool spring monitoring volunteers!
Attendees of the event will be able to join the dozens of volunteers that are surveying springs whenever and wherever they want. These volunteers are collecting extremely valuable data about precious water resources and wildlife while getting to explore Southern Nevada on their own terms!
What to bring: sun protection, comfortable clothing and shoes for being outside, something to write on/take notes with, water and snacks, and an outdoor chair if desired.
What to expect: A few hours of learning about and practicing spring surveying techniques at a cool spring complex! You'll get your hands a little wet and dirty trying out the equipment. The ERG complex is reachable by a short walk from Hidden Valley Road. We'll bring all the surveying equipment you need, plus some snacks and drinks.
More info will be sent in advance of the event to all RSVP's.
This training is open to anyone who has watched the virtual springs monitoring training and wants to learn more or practice what they know in the field! (Missed the virtual training? No problem--email [email protected] and we'll get you the recording.)
Space is limited, so register now! If the event is full, email [email protected] to join the waitlist or to get first dibs on the next in-person training (more coming next month!).
