DNWR Springs Monitoring Day 3

Join us Sunday, May 25th out in the beautiful, vast, and remote Desert National Wildlife Refuge. Friends of Nevada Wilderness needs well season hikers to help in this exciting project involving fresh water spring locations within the DNWR. Fresh water springs play a key role in maintaining the delicate balance of desert ecosystems. They provide a source for fresh water from many of spieces that live on the refuge, including the desert bighorn sheep! It's no seceret that the Southwest has been faced with drought for some time, by surveying these springs we are helping land managers understand the impacts of drought on local ecosystems and monitoring the health of ground water and spring habitats.

Join us for a fun and rewarding day outside, giving back to your public lands!
