Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness, the Bureau of Land Management, Friends of Black Rock, Nevada Outdoor School and others for a fun Memorial Day weekend exploring, protecting and celebrating the beautiful Black Rock Desert.
We have exciting new updates! You can look forward to raffles, rocket launches, presentations, and prizes throughout the weekend.
Highlights include stewardship volunteer projects in Soldier Meadows and Steamboat Rock, as well as geology tours, birding tours, and High Rock Canyon tours in the Black Rock Desert.
Saturday evening is the infamous Dutch Oven Cook-off! Bring your Dutch Oven and your favorite recipe, and prizes will be awarded to the most delicious dishes.
Sunday evening is our Community Grill & Feast, featuring a BYOM (bring your own meat) taco and burrito bar. Bring your meat of choice to be grilled, and we'll provide the rest.
Each evening we will be holding a Playa Slam, so don't forget to bring your guitar, harmonica, and favorite piece of cowboy poetry.
