Are you ready for an adventure? Join us on a weekend-long citizen science backpacking trip into the Calico Mountains Wilderness
Area, Humboldt County to monitor California Bighorn Sheep lamb production, nursery group dynamics,
herd health, and seasonal habitat use areas.

The trip will be led by Nevada Department of Wildlife
Biologist, Mike Cox. We will depart Reno early on Friday morning, backpack into the Calico Hills
on Friday afternoon, spend Friday and Saturday night on the mountain, hike out Sunday afternoon and
drive back to Reno Sunday evening. You can expect a fairly strenuous backpack trip hiking 4-5 miles on steep, rocky terrain with no trails.
