Trails

There are no system trails in the Bald Mountain Wilderness area. The entire Wilderness is open for exploration and overnight camping for those with the skills in route finding, backcountry navigation, and backpack or horse pack camping. A very rough and primitive jeep track crosses the unit from route 642 near Midway Well on the east to Stow Spring on the west provides established access for mountain bikes, jeeps, or hikers. From this route hikers and Wilderness users can access the most expedient approach to summit Bald Mountain. The Mud Wash Road provides access for hikers to explore Circle Creek and the northern portions of the Wilderness, although this road can be quite rough and is prone to washing out.
