It's Friends of Nevada Wilderness' 4th annual Alternative Spring Break event!
We are partnering with the US Fish and Wildlife Service to provide students from UNLV an Alternative Spring Break at the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. This is a multi-day project with 5 nights of camping starting Sunday evening! Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we will travel to designated work sites including Elephant Cove, Corn Creek and Hidden Forest. At these sites volunteers will naturalize old roads, remove debris and alter a fence for wildlife safety. During this week Friends of Nevada Wilderness will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner! Also, the US Fish and Wildlife Service has organized evening educational speakers for every night of the trip!
You don't have to a student to participate in this Alternative Spring Break. If you can't camp for 5 nights please come for the day or stay a night or two!
If you would like to participate please RSVP. RSVPs will be accepted until March 10th.
Jose or Jesy will be in touch about logistics as the event gets closer.
