Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness and the U.S. Forest Service as work to help protect sage-grouse. We will be placing markers on fence to help prevent sage-grouse from flying into it and injuring themselves or worse. T
Fence collisions by sage-grouse can be widespread and fatal. According to the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), fence marking can reduce sage-grouse strikes by up to 83 percent. We are planning to mark areas where known sage-grouse strikes have been occurring and where fences are near active leks.
