We are gearing up for the 13th Annual Black Rock Rendezvous. Set aside Memorial Day weekend, May 25-28th for another great time in the desert!
We plan to camp below Cassidy Mine on the playa, but this is subject to change due to weather and runoff. Partners this year again include Nevada Outdoor School, Friends of Black Rock-High Rock, Nevada Department of Wildlife, and the BLM. We look forward to another great Dutch Oven Competition, so dust out your oven’s and start testing your secret recipes.
Talks will cover topics such as Outdoor Ethics, Pikas, Dark Skies, Rockets, Art, and Pollinator Seeds. Tours will include Hot Springs, Photography, Geodes, Hikes, and back for the 3rd year in a row, a Dutch Oven 101 class.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to clean up the area surrounding a hot spring, delineate a road at Silver Cabin, as well as restore critical dune habitat.
Nevada Outdoor School will be hosting Kid's Camp this year. This is a great opportunity to let kids learn all about the desert and outdoor ethics.
