Area Description

The Delamar Mountains Wilderness ranges from gentle to rugged and is seldom visited. Several deep, twisting canyons issue from the central core region: the largest of these is Bomber Wash which drains into Pahranagat Wash near US highway 93. The eastern mountainous region holds hills, peaks, washes and draws. The entire range measures 23 miles long by 13 miles wide, although the Wilderness area is only a portion of that.

Recreation
Many of the canyon areas and some of the boundary zones have spectacular cliffs. On the north, a large northeasterly tending canyon makes an attractive hiking route. The higher peaks in the central and eastern portions are good destinations and provide expansive views of the Sheep Range, Pahranagat Valley, Meadow Valley Range, Mormoun Mountains, Kane Springs Valley and beyond. The steep and rocky terrain is good for rock scrambling and climbing.

Wildlife
Big horn sheep live here, along with other wildlife that is adapted to the very arid conditions.

This wilderness is a component of the Bureau of Land Management's National Conservation Lands.
