Friends Receives Generous Truck Match Challenge of $28,000!

Thanks to a generous foundation match of $28,000, Friends will be able to keep the wheels turning for our northern Nevada stewardship program - but only if we raise an additional $28,000 before the end of October to match this wonderful gift!

Interested in helping us meet this challenge? Here's a link to our online donation page: https://www.nevadawilderness.org/donate - just put "Vehicle Match" in the Reason for Donating box. You can also send a check with "Vehicle Match" in the note field of the check to PO Box 9754, Reno, NV 89507.

This truck is integral to our Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge program - stewarding the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge has been a core part of Friends' stewardship mission for over 13 years thanks to a strong partnership with the US Fish and Wildlife Service and generous funding from the Greater Hart-Sheldon Fund and the Wilburforce Foundation. Since 2012, Friends of Nevada Wilderness crews and volunteers in the Sheldon have removed:

  • 57 non-functioning water developments
  • Nearly 340 miles of barbed wire fence
  • Over 137 tons of metal garbage

Help us continue re-wilding the Sheldon and all of northern Nevada - donate today! Please contact [email protected] if you have questions or would like to make a contributions through a donor-advised or other charitable fund.
