Speak Up For Northern Nevada Public Lands

The Bureau of Land Management Carson City Field Offices have released their draft Resource Management Plan (RMP) and are asking the public to review and comment. They are holding their first public meeting January 13th from 5-7pm and we need YOU to attend and show your support for our wild lands!

We need your help to attend this critical meeting and urge the Bureau of Land Management to include these special areas back into the RMP as lands with wilderness characteristics.

Date: Tuesday, January 13th from 5-7pm

Location: The Nugget Hotel and Casino

1100 Nugget Ave, Sparks, Nevada 89431

The RMP/EIS will address issues such as lands with wilderness characteristics, as well as Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC), lands and realty, utility corridors, solar energy, wind energy, and so much more.

The preferred plan proposes to protect 332,600 acres, or 7 percent of the planning area, for their wilderness characteristics although key areas have been omitted from the plan, such as Petersen Mountain. It is essential that we have Reno/Sparks citizens attend this meeting to make their voice heard.
