Sagebrush Seed Collection #1

Help Restore Native Habitats!

Join us Saturday, December 3rd to collect seeds from local Sagebrush populations. Collected seeds will be used in restoration efforts to recover local sagebrush populations, such as post-wildfire. These projects are fun, simple, and rewarding. Sagebrush is a foundational piece of our local ecosystems, an important winter food source for mule deer, provides food and cover benefits for a variety of other wildlife, and helps stabilize soils, reducing erosion.

Sign up today to be a part of local restoration efforts!

Information:

Difficulty: Easy. The work involves repetitive movements and bending over to strip the seeds of the sagebrush and bag them. Working outside, in possibly cold weather. This may not be appropriate for children under 12 years old.

Location: About an hour from Reno. The exact meetup location will be provided to those who RSVP. An RSVP is required to participate.
