Join us for a fun adventure out to Gabbs Valley where we will mark the WSA Boundary, and go on the hunt for mining claim markers.

PVC mining claim markers that were put up in the 90's were found to be a hazard for cavity dwelling birds and other critters on the search for a cool, dark place to escape the desert sun. There are very few records of where these markers exist, and since the BLM outlawed them in the early 2000's, conservation groups like ours have been on a statewide scavenger hunt to find the markers and lay them down so that they no longer pose a threat for desert creatures. 

We will be heading out on Friday afternoon around 2pm, and will return Saturday evening, after grabbing grub somewhere in central Nevada (the options are limitless!). This will be a short trip, but a fun one. Spaces are limited, so sign up now!
