Make your break matter - Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness for our 7th annual Alternative Spring Break at Gold Butte National Monument!! We'll improve vital desert habitats and learn about our local environment all while camping in Gold Butte and exploring its natural wonders. You'll walk away from this week with a sense of connectedness and memories that will last forever.
We'll spend the week at Gold Butte National Monument, enjoying a unique and truly unforgettable experience during spring break. This is a multi-day project with 5 nights of camping in the wild, starting Sunday evening. Monday through Friday we'll improve fragile desert habitats throughout Gold Butte. In the evenings we'll eat gourmet camp dinners, hear from experts about our local environment, and try our hand at bird watching and stargazing. We'll also have time to explore the areas that we're working to protect. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about our local environment, experience cultural resources, and get to know like-minded folks.

The trip is free! All meals, gear, and transportation to project sites are provided due to a generous grant from Barrick. This is the third year Barrick has provided funds for us to host Alternative Spring Break and get students out on the ground to accomplish critical restoration projects in Clark County while gaining experience in the natural resources field. There is no experience necessary - we'll provide all of the gear and information that you'll need.
We do ask for a $20 deposit to confirm your commitment, which will be fully refunded when you join us for Alternative Spring Break. We'll send you more information about the deposit & more once you RSVP.
