Frequently Asked Questions

I bought my ticket, but I haven't received a ticket in my email. Why?

You will not receive a "traditional" ticket in your email. We will have a Will Call table ready at the entrance to the venue with your name on our list. Just give us your name at Will Call and we will give you your wristband for the evening!  You're welcome to show a copy of your confirmation email from PayPal as a backup.

What should I bring?

The venue is an open lawn with general admission. Please bring low back lawn chairs or a picnic blanket to sit on. The space on the lawn will be first come, first serve. If you bring a high back lawn chair, we will ask you to select a spot towards the back of the lawn so that others will be able to see.  Also keep in mind that it will get chilly as the night progresses.  Make sure to bring a jacket and whatever else you'll need to stay warm.  There will be a $10/vehicle charge to get into the State Park, so be sure to bring a form of payment! Bring your preferred seat of choice, some layers, your excitement for this year’s films, and an open heart!

When should I arrive?

We encourage you to arrive when doors open at 4:30pm.  That'll give you plenty of time to get your wristband, claim your seat on the lawn, have food and beverages, and most importantly talk to all of the wonderful conservation groups participating in the community fair.  Tacos will be available for purchase until the films start at 6:30pm, so make sure to arrive before then.  Entry to the park will close at 7:30pm.

How long is the program?

The films begin at 6:30 sharp and the films are two hours long with a 30 minute intermission. We are anticipating wrapping up at about 9:30PM.

Can I bring my kids?

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is a family friendly event open to all ages. Children 13 and under are free! Bring the whole family.

Can I bring my dog?

Due to the nature of our event, we are not allowing dogs. Please help us be mindful of everyone’s experience and respectful of our proximity to the wildlife at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.

Can I bring my own snacks?

Yes, feel free to bring your own snacks. If your appetite is larger, there will be tacos for purchase until 6:30pm.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No, please refrain from bringing alcohol to the event. We will have alcohol available for a suggested donation inside the venue.

Where should I park?

As seen on this site map, continue through the fee booth and take your first left, following signs for Friends of Nevada Wilderness. There are also accessible parking spots adjacent to the lawn for those who need them for mobility ease.  When you arrive to the fee booth or general parking lot, show proper identification and you'll be directed to the designated area.

Why is there an entrance fee in addition to the ticket fee?

In addition to the cost of your tickets, you will need to pay a $10 entrance fee per vehicle to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. This is the standard park entrance fee that directly helps to maintain the park and keep it accessible and enjoyable to both people and wildlife. We encourage you to carpool to our event if that is possible for you. Once you enter the park, there will be signs and volunteers directing you to the parking lot.  The closest ATMs are at the Chevron at the intersection of Hwy 159 & Hwy 160, and the Chevron near the Albertsons on Charleston Blvd.
