WILD_WASHOE.jpg

Residents around Washoe County have been asking for a lands bill for Washoe County that is balanced and protects parks, open space, and wilderness. Your voice is being heard!

The Washoe County Commission will be holding another open house for the Washoe public lands proposal. They want to hear your vision for the future of Washoe County. Join us on November 2nd and make your voice heard!

Washoe County is rich with incredible open spaces that offer Northern Nevadans places for outdoor recreation, solitude, and adventure. With demanding pressures of population growth and development, now is the time for a comprehensive lands bill that can help our community sustain our quality of life, protects and expands our parks, open space, and wilderness and promotes economic opportunities!

RSVP today to join us on November 2nd!

Take Action

  • Join us at the public open house to express your support for protecting parks, trails, open space, and wilderness in Washoe County by passing a comprehensive public lands bill, this year.
  • Ask the Washoe County Commission to urge Nevada’s Members of Congress to pass a lands bill this year.  If anyone can do this Senator Reid, Senator Heller, and Congressman Amodei working together can make this happen.
  • Support
    • Preservation and expansion of parks, trails, open space and recreational opportunities around Reno, Sparks, and all of Washoe County.
    • Protection for Buffalo Hills, Granite-Banjo, Massacre Rim, Macy, and Wall Canyon proposed wilderness areas.  These spectacular places are characterized by dramatic vistas, classic canyons, buttes, & rims, sweeping valley floors and upland meadows. They are also important habitat to iconic Nevada Wildlife. For more information check out http://ourwashoe.org and Please join us and make your voice heard.
