Volunteer appreciation party — 12/16/2011

volunteer appreciation party
You are invited to Friends of Nevada Wilderness' annual
signature celebration. This event honors the 2011 volunteers and other awardees for
all the time and hard work they have given to heal those Nevada wild places that needed help.
We offer you live music, finger food, a no-host bar, raffle, silent
auction and a moving awards-presentation ceremony.
When: 6:00pm to 10:00pm, Friday, December 16, 2011
Awards ceremony: 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
Where: Grand Sierra Resort and Casino — Tahoe room

Native Planting to Protect Wildlife Habitat — 11/19/2011
Desert National Wildlife Refuge (just north of Las Vegas)

You are invited to join Friends as we help the Fish and Wildlife
Service plant willows to improve the wildlife habitat at Corn Creek. This should be a
really fun event, and I hope you will consider joining us. Please call Kurt at

Lovell Canyon trail work day — 11/20/2011
West side of the Spring Mountains (just west of Las Vegas)

Get out and help the Forest Service by "brushing" the Lovell Canyon trail.
This means we will construct the trail corridor to prepare the route for tread building.
Volunteers will cut back brush, remove rocks and down trees.
It will be tough, but satisfying, work in a beautiful location.

This project is open to adults, seniors, and groups
(Beginners are welcome, and participants must be able to hike uphill with
