Mark Vollmer and Jim Eaglesmith present an evening to remember — a benefit for Friends of Nevada Wilderness

On November 12, Friends presents a wilderness evening with the outdoor photography of Mark Vollmer intimately orchestrated to live, original music by Jim Eaglesmith.

Mark Vollmer is an award-winning outdoor photographer whose imagery is very evocative. He has a real knack for getting great shots of wildlife, storms, wild lighting and sunsets. The spirit of the land shows through in his photos. This year, Mark is the cover photographer for Friends’ Wild Nevada calendar.

Jim Eaglesmith is an award-winning singer, songwriter and storyteller of many years experience performing singly and with groups. He is a co-founder of the popular Reno drum circle where, for more than a decade, up to 100 people met weekly to drum and dance in harmony with spirit. Jim is well known for walking the path of spirit in his life and for singing from his heart.

This will be a very special evening (see flier). Please put this one on your calendar.

Saturday, October 30   Birdsong Trail at Corn Creek (Day 2 of 3), Desert National Wildlife Refuge

Stewardship — Join with Friends of Nevada Wilderness and the US Fish and Wildlife Service to build part of the Birdsong Trail. Today is the second day of a project that spans 3 Saturdays of work from October 23 to November 6. Please join us for this day or both remaining days of work on the trail. Details

Volunteers interested in camping out in the wild after working Saturday are invited to let Kurt know in advance (email Kurt) for planning.

Kurt is offering, for those volunteers who are interested, to lead an overnight campout in the wild on Saturday at the end of the work day. Please let him know in advance (email Kurt).
