Walkin' Jim Stoltz on his 2009 Nevada trek

FOREVER WILD is the award-winning, multi-media celebration of nature featuring folksinger/photographer Walkin' Jim Stoltz. Combining Jim's inspiring photographs with his original folk-style songs from 28,000 miles of walking through America's last wild places (much of that in Nevada).

This performance is more than a concert. The stunning photography, stories, and songs make it a moving visit into our nation's remaining natural areas.

Admission is $15 and tickets are available at Maytan Music, Sundance Books or by calling Friends of Nevada Wilderness at 324-7667.

Earth Day Campaign

Taking better care of our existing wilderness in Nevada and helping get long-term protection for other deserving areas, like Gold Butte, Burbank Canyons and the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge were our New Year resolutions for 2010.

To help accomplish this, we are trying something new and will be asking you, our supporters, to consider a special donation during Friends' eight-day Earth Day online giving campaign.

From April 15 (tax-day) through April 22 (the 40th anniversary of Earth Day) we will be sending one email per day. They will be short and lighthearted, so take a look.

Our fundraising goal for the campaign is $13,140. This odd amount is the elevation of the highest point in Nevada, Boundary Peak, which happens to be in wilderness. Boundary Peak Wilderness, designated in 1989, was one of the many wilderness areas for which Friends of Nevada Wilderness led the successful campaign to protect.

So have fun with us, and together we can climb to the summit, achieve the goal and not break a sweat.

Thank you,

Shaaron Netherton
Executive Director
