Tips for writing your LTE Make one point (two at most) in your letter. State the point clearly. Type whenever possible, or print legibly. Cite the article. If you are responding to a recently published article mention the title and date within your first two sentences. Support your facts. If the topic is controversial, consider sending documentation along with your letter. Generally, letters should be less than 200 words. Sign your letter if mailing a hard copy. Always include your full name, contact information and town that you live in.
