September 2014 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act, a historic piece of legislation that led to the creation of the National Wilderness Preservation System, including our very own backyard playground, Mt. Rose Wilderness.

Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness and the U.S. Forest Service as we host a joint presentation to explore the history of the Wilderness Act and how it led to the creation and management of Mt. Rose Wilderness. We will also discuss the importance of preserving its wilderness character and future opportunities for you to get involved!
