Area Description

Table Mountain Additions are comprised of several separate areas contiguous with the existing wilderness. If the additions are designated, the resulting complex would exceed 189,000 acres in the Monitor Range. The proposed additions include:
Table Mountain Barley Creek (11-12B)  —  3,988 acres
Table Mountain W Valley (13-07)  —  4,044 acres
Table Mountain East (13-01)  — 83,623 acres

Because these proposed additions are contiguous with and would be incorporated into existing wilderness, any of the individual areas can be smaller than the usual 5,000 acre minimum for independent wilderness areas.
