Table Mountain Wilderness Monitoring Trip
Start Date: 5/11/2009
End Date: 5/15/2009
Location: Table Mountain Wilderness
State Region: West Central Nevada
Event Type: Stewardship
Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness and the Austin-Tonopah Ranger District as we collect baseline data concerning trails, campsites, invasive weeds, and potential future projects.
Considerable drive time should be expected, but it will be worth it as the hiking will be great, and there will be ample opportunities to see large populations of elk and mule deer. Many Paleo-Indian sites can be found in the Monitor Range, as well. The project site is about 1 hour travel time northeast of Tonopah.
This is a multi-day car camp trip with day hikes. Transportation provided. Contact Wes Hoskins, Forest Project Coordinator, for more details (see left column for contact info). If you cannot be there for the full week, contact Wes to see about joining the project for a shorter period.
